It is an injection-molded model in gray and clear plastic with engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit interior and a richly glazed flight deck. The model captures the characteristic large single-engine biplane with fixed landing gear.
The An-2 is one of the largest series-built single-engine biplanes in the world. It first flew in 1947 and thanks to its short takeoff and landing, its toughness and its undemanding nature it was used as a transport and agricultural aircraft, for parachute drops, for towing gliders and for light haulage. It was produced for decades and still flies in many countries.
Assemble and paint the cockpit interior before closing the fuselage, because it will be clearly visible through the large glazing. Mask the extensive glazing carefully. On a biplane, take care to align the upper wing and the struts correctly; gluing to a positive stop and letting it dry thoroughly works well. An airbrush and fine washes will bring out the fabric surfaces and the panels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
