Photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the B-25J Mitchell bomber in the version with a glazed nose. An accessory to a finished kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The B-25 Mitchell was an American twin-engine medium bomber of the Second World War, used on practically every front. The B-25J version was the most numerous and was built in two clearly different forms of the nose: either with a glazed nose for the bombardier, or with a solid nose fitted with machine guns for low-level attacks on ground targets. The qualifier in the name refers to the first of these. The glazed nose matters for a model: you can see inside, so detail in the forward fuselage is not lost under paint.
The set contains photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the B-25J with a glazed nose. Etch is useful wherever a part should be as thin as sheet metal or wire and where the bulk of a plastic molding is obvious at first sight. Which parts of the machine the set deals with, which kit it is tuned for and what has to be removed from the plastic beforehand is given in the manufacturer's instructions; follow them for the order of work as well, because some parts are fitted before the fuselage is glued together.
The parts are held on the sheet by small tabs. Cut them with a sharp blade on a hard surface and level the rest of the tab with a file. Make the bends along the etched lines, preferably in an etch bending tool. Apply super glue with a pin, otherwise it runs and fogs the surroundings; with clear parts that goes double. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer.
The kit, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
