Injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from I Love Kit. The model captures the American fifth-generation air superiority fighter Lockheed Martin F-22A Raptor. The box contains a decal sheet and instructions; paints, glue and accessories are not included. Because of its complexity the kit is intended rather for more experienced modelers.
The F-22 Raptor is a single-seat, twin-engine stealth fighter operated by the US Air Force. It combines a low radar signature, supercruise (supersonic flight without afterburner), thrust vectoring and advanced avionics. It carries its armament in internal weapon bays in order to keep its stealth profile. It is one of the most capable machines for gaining air superiority.
Take care over clean panel joints, because on a stealth aircraft the edges and transitions are clearly visible. The cockpit and the clear canopy glazing deserve attention, and masking templates for the frames pay off. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and apply primer before the airbrush. The characteristic gray stealth camouflage calls for subtle shading of the panels and restrained weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
