A double-sided glazing mask for the Douglas B-26B-50 Invader in 1:48 scale, adapted to the mold from the name of the item.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking sheet for the framing of the cockpit and the other glazed areas of the Invader in the form the machine wore after its redesignation. The cutouts cover the outer and the inner side of the parts and match the ICM kit given in the name.
The Invader received the B-26 designation only in 1948, when the US Air Force abolished the separate category of attack machines and the earlier bearer of the same number had already finished its service. It was therefore not a new aircraft but a new label on a proven airframe. Under the new name the type went through a second career over the Korean peninsula, where it worked mainly at night. The crews set out against columns on supply routes and relied on the machine staying low and staying up for a long time. That service earned the type a reputation its original deployment in Europe came nowhere near.
It is not only the canopy above the pilot. The Invader has glazing above the rear position too and further small windows, so there are a lot of frames and they vary in width. Fit the inner cutouts before you glue the parts into the fuselage, otherwise you will not reach the underside. The outer part comes in turn only once the base color has dried, because the edge of the stencil would otherwise leave a mark in soft paint.
