Bomb racks for the Martin bomber: Eduard Brassin 1:48 B-26B Marauder bomb racks brings resin beams for the bomb bay in place of simplified plastic parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Brassin line deals with one particular assembly: the frames and the shackles on which the bombs hang in the fuselage bomb bay. The castings have sharp edges and thin sections of a kind that cannot be made in an injection mold, so the open space under the fuselage stops looking empty.
The Marauder was a fast medium bomber with a cigar-shaped fuselage and a small, highly loaded wing. Because of its high landing speed it earned unflattering nicknames at first, but after the span was lengthened and the training changed it became the machine with one of the lowest combat loss rates in its category. The B version was the most numerous and served over western Europe and in the Mediterranean.
The parts are cut off the casting blocks with a saw or a knife, never broken. Sanding is best done wet and with protection of the airways, because the dust that arises is irritating. The joints are held by super glue; ordinary cement for plastic does not work here. Before spraying it suits to wash the surface and coat it with a base color.
The item is a standalone detail accessory for a model of the bomber.
