A precisely cast resin radial engine for the export Brewster B-339 Buffalo fighter in 1:48 scale. It is an aftermarket detail part for the engine bay, which will replace the simplified plastic engine from the base kit, not a stand-alone model of the airplane.
The Brewster Buffalo was an American single-seat carrier fighter of the late 1930s, serving with the US Navy as the F2A. The designation B-339 was carried by the export, lightened land-based version without carrier equipment, powered by the Wright R-1820 Cyclone radial engine. These machines served among other things with Allied states at the start of the war in the Pacific and in northern Europe.
Resin parts call for more careful work than plastic: first wash them free of mold release residue, separate them carefully from the casting block and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding and cutting small parts. Apply a primer before painting. The cylinders and the plumbing of the engine come into their own once they are painted in metallic shades and gone over with a dry brush; check the seating depth dry before you close the cowling.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
