1:48 Bell P-39N Airacobra TFace canopy frame paint mask, an Eduard masking set in the TFace form, that is for both sides of the glazing.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set of the Eduard brand for the single-seat Bell P-39N fighter. The designation TFace refers to the form that handles both sides of the glazing: not only the outer framing but also the view out of the cockpit. The goods are an accessory for painting; the aircraft itself is not to be found in the package.
The frames of the canopy tend to be sprayed in the interior shade on the inside and in camouflage on the outside. Anyone who masks only from the outside is looking through the glass at bare clear plastic, and the illusion of a glazed cockpit falls apart. The double-sided form handles this difference, which is why it is more extensive than the ordinary variant for the outer side. With the Airacobra it carries twice the weight: the cockpit opened by side doors, the glass is intricate and seen from the side considerably more of the inside is visible than on fighters with a long teardrop canopy.
Mask and spray the inner side before the glazing is seated into the fuselage. Only then comes the outer set and the camouflage. Let the paint dry properly between layers so that it does not tear when the masks are lifted. Press the edges down with a blunt tool; a sharp point could score the glass. After lifting them off, check against the light whether any remnant of paint has been left on a clear surface; a small overrun can be scraped away carefully with a toothpick while the layer is still soft.
