This item is not a kit of an aircraft but a separate resin part representing the cartridge case container, that is the container connected with the gun armament of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the F and G versions. The casting is finer and sharper in shape than its plastic counterpart and it is used as an accessory when building a model in 1:48 scale. Quickboost is the accessory range of the Czech maker Aires, aimed at small improvements that can be fitted quickly and without major intervention in the model.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is among the most numerously produced fighters in history. The F version, nicknamed Friedrich, brought an aerodynamically cleaned-up airframe, rounded wingtips and armament concentrated in the forward fuselage. The following G version was the most numerous of all and differed in having a more powerful engine and a number of bulges and blisters on the cowling. It is precisely on these versions that the details connected with the armament and the ejection of cartridge cases come into their own on models with the service covers open or in an airfield scene.
Wash the part in warm water with a drop of detergent, so that the mold release from the mold is removed. Cut the casting block off with a saw and true the surface up on abrasive paper; sand wet and with respiratory protection. Try the seating dry before gluing, and with small parts tweezers and a gel cyanoacrylate glue, which gives more time for positioning, work well. Apply a primer before painting. The inner surfaces are usually painted darker, and slight emphasis on the edges with drybrushing plus a fine wash give the part depth.
