Photo-etched metal parts for completing a plastic kit of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 fighter in 1:48 scale. The list of parts and their placement is given in the maker's instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bf 109G-6 was the most widespread version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter and from 1943 it formed the backbone of the day fighter force. It was powered by the twelve-cylinder inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine, which gives the nose its slim upright shape. The G-6 version can be told at a glance by the pair of prominent bulges on the engine cowling: they appeared so that the breeches of the 13 mm fuselage machine guns, which replaced the earlier weaker weapons, would fit underneath.
Photo-etched metal parts intended to complete a plastic kit of this aircraft. Photo-etching is made from thin sheet, so it allows a thickness that injected plastic cannot come close to. On the model this shows everywhere the material is slim on the real aircraft: on belts and buckles, on controls, placards and small metal covers. The exact list of parts, their placement and the kit to whose dimensions the set is cut are given in the maker's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with pliers, otherwise the sheet buckles. Sand the remains of the tab away with a fine file. Make the bends in a bender or between the jaws of flat pliers, always in one go and along the whole length of the edge. Bond with super glue, applied with a pin in tiny drops; an excess sets on the etched metal as a white haze. Before painting, wash and degrease the fret and use a primer, otherwise paint will not hold on the smooth surface.
What is supplied is the set of photo-etched parts alone. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
