A die-cut self-adhesive masking set from Eduard in 1:48 scale for spraying the camouflage scheme of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G fighter. It is not a kit and not a stand-alone model but a set of shaped masks of thin yellow masking tape (kabuki), which covers the disruptive camouflage and the mottling in the pattern typical of the production of the WNF plant (Wiener Neustädter Flugzeugwerke).
The Messerschmitt Bf 109G, nicknamed the Gustav, was the most widespread version of the German Bf 109 fighter in the Second World War. It was built in several plants, and the individual factories differed in the style of the camouflage spraying and of the mottling on the fuselage. This pattern is based on the camouflage of machines from the production of the WNF plant at Wiener Neustadt. The standard scheme consisted of the upper shades RLM 74 and 75 over the lower RLM 76, complemented by mottling on the sides of the fuselage.
First spray the base, lighter shade of the camouflage and let it dry. Then stick the masks on exactly according to the enclosed instructions and spray over them with the darker shade. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats, so that it does not run under the edge of the mask. Once dry, peel the masks off carefully at an acute angle.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
