Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail accessory in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. It is not a model of an aircraft but a faithful replacement for the tropical dust filter that was fitted to Messerschmitt Bf 109G aircraft in front of the supercharger intake when they served in desert and Mediterranean conditions. The casting captures the characteristic shape of the filter and the fine texture of the mesh better than injection-molded plastic allows.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109G, nicknamed Gustav, was the most widespread version of the German fighter of the Second World War. Machines deployed in North Africa and the Mediterranean were given a large dust filter on the supercharger intake, which protected the engine against blown sand. The filter is a conspicuous recognition feature of tropical machines.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin part and carefully cut off the casting block. Bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and protect your airways when sanding. Check the fit on the fuselage intake before setting it in place. The filter is usually sprayed with an airbrush in the same scheme as the surrounding surfaces, and the mesh can be brought up with a dark wash.
This is a detail set, not a model. Paints, glue and the kit itself are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
