1:48 Bf 109G-6, double-sided glazing masks for the most numerous version of the German fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masks for the glazing of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 in 1:48 scale, intended for spraying the frames from the outer and the inner side. The Gustav differs from the older versions in the form of the cockpit as well, so a general stencil from another sub-version does not fit and improvising does not pay.
The G-6 version was built in greater numbers than any other. Its recognition marks are the bulges on the engine cowling, which the heavier fuselage machine guns demanded room for, and the larger tailwheel. Many machines were given additional armament under the wing or equipment for night fighting, so very different-looking aircraft hide behind one designation. Later examples had a different canopy with a better view, and both forms occurred side by side within units.
The inner side is applied first, because the exterior shade is then sprayed over it and any run is hidden. Keep to thin coats; a heavy coat emphasizes the thickness of the frame and the cockpit grows coarse. Press the stencil down from the center toward the edges, so that no air is trapped under it and the edge seats along its whole length. Anyone building a machine with the canopy open should leave the armored glass behind the pilot's head until the end.
