A resin detail part, not an airplane kit. This finely cast resin set replaces the pitot tube of the American Grumman F-14 Tomcat carrier fighter with its variable-geometry wing in 1:48 scale. The thin, accurately shaped part looks far more faithful than the thicker plastic part from the box, which also breaks off easily. The part is intended for modelers who want to bring the front of the aircraft to perfection.
The pitot tube is one of those small things that catch the eye at once on a finished model. A fine resin casting captures the right profile and proportions, and fitted on the nose it gives the machine a delicacy that is hard to achieve with coarser plastic. Thanks to the crisply cast tip it looks faithful even from close up.
