1:48 Boeing B-17 G Flying Fortress bombardier's station interior is a resin set for rounding out the glazed nose section of a model of the bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A more extensive resin detail set for a model of the four-engine bomber B-17 G in 1:48 scale. It rounds out the space in the glazed nose where the bombardier and the navigator worked. It is not a kit of the aircraft; the set is fitted into a plastic model under way, and necessarily before the fuselage is closed. The nose is precisely the most visible part of the interior on the B-17 thanks to the large area of glazing, so the investment in detail pays off.
The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was an American four-engine heavy bomber and one of the symbols of daylight strategic bombing over Europe. The B-17 G version was the most numerous: it got an added lower nose gun turret and overall the strongest defensive armament of the whole range. The crew numbered around ten men, and the bombardier's station in the nose was the place from which the success of a whole raid was decided, including the operation of the sight for releasing the bombs.
For advanced modelers who build a large bomber as their main project and want the glazed nose to stand up to a close-up view. It calls for planning the course of the build in advance.
