1:48 Boeing EA-18G Hornet LooK

The real subject

The EA-18G is an American carrier aircraft intended for electronic warfare, known in service under the name Growler. It is based on the two-seat form of the Super Hornet, so it kept the angular air intakes, the large lifting area and the crew sitting one behind the other; instead of part of the armament, however, it carries equipment for jamming enemy radars. The most conspicuous difference from an ordinary machine are the pods on the wingtips, which hold the receiving apparatus. In the navy it replaced the older EA-6B Prowler electronic warfare machine.

What the set is for

LööK is an accessory range aimed at the parts of a model that are on view, that is mainly at the cockpit area. The set is bought for a finished kit and replaces or completes its parts where injection-molded plastic runs into its limits. What exactly the package holds and which EA-18G kit it is cut for is given by the manufacturer's instructions; with sets tied to one particular boxing it pays to check that before buying. Check the exact designation of the range on the packaging as well, because the manufacturer makes accessories of several extents for this aircraft.

• 1:48 scale, an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right
• the real subject is the EA-18G carrier electronic warfare aircraft
• an accessory set from the LööK family
• the make-up of the package and the kit it is meant for are given by the manufacturer's instructions
• it is advisable to try the parts dry before gluing

Building tips

First go through the instructions and compare the parts with the kit, and only then reach for the glue. Most of the elements are aimed at the cockpit, which you can no longer reach once the fuselage is closed, so fit them in good time. The plastic under a part usually has to be leveled, so that the replacement sits down without a gap. Choose the glue according to the material of the part and apply it in a small amount only.

Terms of supply

The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
