A water-thinnable acrylic paint of the Gunze Aqueous Hobby Color range in a light greenish shade which is known as duck egg green.
Responsibility details are not available.
Duck egg green is not a saturated green but a very light greenish tone shifted toward blue, the tone of the shell of a duck egg. That is precisely why this name became established for it rather than a description referring to the color of foliage. Light greenish shades of this kind appeared in the period of the Second World War on the lower surfaces of British aircraft, where they were meant to blur the machine against the sky; in modeling it moreover suits everywhere a green without weight is needed, that is, on small equipment, instruments and interiors.
The shade is among those that cannot be replaced by mixing on the bench, because its shift toward blue is treacherous:
As with all light shades, it covers less well on dark plastic, so count on several thin coats or on a light base. The transition between the light lower and the dark upper surface is sprayed last and with a soft line, if the real machine has no hard boundary; a hard transition is done over a mask. Mix the bottle thoroughly before work, as the pigment settles to the bottom. For spraying, thin the paint with the thinner intended for this range and wash the tools immediately after work.
One bottle of paint is supplied. Thinner, primer, masking material and clear coat are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
