Bristol Fighter F.2B in Polish service 1:48 is a decal set in 1:48 scale devoted to the two-seat Bristol F.2B biplane in Polish service.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is a decal sheet in 1:48 scale. The Bristol F.2B was a British two-seat biplane from the end of the First World War that combined the agility of a fighter with a second crew member at a flexible gun. After the war it spread to other users including Poland, where it served in the first years of building up an air force of its own.
Unlike an all-metal airframe, a biplane has fabric covering over ribs, which shows under a decal as regular ripples. The film will not bed onto them by itself, and if a decal is laid over them dry, air stays under it and the motif ripples. Working with a softener is therefore not optional here but essential.
Overcoat the painted model with a gloss varnish, so the surface is not absorbent. Cut the motifs out closely to the printing and, after soaking, let them stand on a towel. Apply a weak solution to the spot, bring the decal up and press the water out with a soft cloth in the direction of the ribs, not across them. Then add a stronger softener and let the film dry undisturbed, even if it rises into wrinkles - they will draw themselves down. Wash the residues of the solution off and even the surface out with a matte varnish, so the sheen matches doped fabric.
The package holds decals, not a model. The paints, the varnishes and the solutions are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
