Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the British Islander light utility aircraft in the BN-2T turboprop version, in the form used by the Royal Air Force. The kit is made by the Czech firm Valom, which specializes in less usual aircraft types produced by short-run technology.
The Britten-Norman Islander is one of the most successful British light transport aircraft: an undemanding high-wing monoplane with fixed landing gear, it copes with short and unpaved strips and has been connecting islands, carrying parachutists and flying patrols for decades. The BN-2T Turbo Islander version was given turboprop engines in place of piston ones, which brought quieter and more reliable operation. With the Royal Air Force these machines served for observation, calibration and light transport duties.
With short-run kits expect a greater share of fitting by hand: try the parts dry, sand the mating surfaces and fill the gaps. Remove the sprue marks patiently and glue the small parts one at a time. The angular fuselage of the Islander sprays well with an airbrush; apply gloss varnish before the decals and finally even the surface out with matte or satin varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
