A photo-etched set of parts for a model of the Bristol Beaufighter Mk.IF twin-engine fighter in 1:48 scale. An accessory for a finished kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bristol Beaufighter is a British twin-engine heavy fighter of the Second World War with a roomy nose and sturdy construction. The Mk.IF version served in the night fighter role, where its load-carrying ability and ample room for equipment and for a second crew member came into their own. The model therefore offers dark finishes that go well with a thoroughly detailed interior.
Photo-etched parts for a model of the Beaufighter Mk.IF in 1:48 scale, supplied on a photo-etched fret from which the individual parts are separated. The etched sheet is thin, so it captures shapes on which injection-molded plastic is coarse. The particular list of parts, their position on the model and any modifications to the kit are given in the manufacturer's instructions, which it is therefore a good idea to go through before starting the build.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with nippers, otherwise they will bend. Sand the remaining tab down with a fine file. Bend them over a straight edge or in a bending tool for etched parts, so that the bend comes out sharp and exactly at the scored line. They are attached with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a minute amount, for instance with the tip of a wire. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and use a primer suitable for metal.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
