An accessory set for a model of the CH-47 Chinook heavy transport helicopter in 1:48 scale, marked as set number 1.
Responsibility details are not available.
The CH-47 Chinook is a heavy transport helicopter with a pair of lifting rotors arranged in tandem, that is with no tail rotor. It has been in service since the 1960s and to this day is among the busiest machines of its class: it carries troops, cargo in the fuselage and cargo beneath the fuselage as a slung load.
It is an accessory set for a model of the helicopter in 1:48 scale. The number in the name tells the individual sets of the same range apart; it is therefore not a marking of a version of the machine. The exact list of parts, their placing and what has to be altered on the kit for them to seat are given in the instructions supplied with the set.
The parts are not made of polystyrene, so cement for plastic will not join them: use super glue, and a two-part resin for larger, loaded joints. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the rest down, so as not to cut into the part itself. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and apply a primer, or the finish will take badly. Offer every part up dry first and only then glue it.
The set is intended for modelers who want to take a Chinook model beyond the level of the base kit and do not mind tuning the placing of the parts to the particular maker of the model. It will serve well in a scene with the machine on the ground too, where the exposed equipment is most visible. The model of the helicopter itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
