1:48 Croatian Ultimate Fighter #3 Black 10 BF 109 G in Croatian Service - Part 3

Exotic Decals 1:48 Croatian Ultimate Fighter, part 3: Black 10

The third part of a decal series devoted to Messerschmitt Bf 109 G airplanes in Croatian service, in 1:48 scale. This part is focused on the machine with the tactical marking black 10. The package holds decals that are applied to a finished painted model, and the kit is obtained separately.

The real subject

The Bf 109 G was the most numerously produced development family of the German single-engined fighter. It differed from the older versions in the Daimler-Benz DB 605 powerplant, a strengthened structure and the characteristic bulges on the engine cowling. Besides the Luftwaffe the type also flew with other operators including Croatian units. The decal set captures the markings of one specific machine, so it is intended for a modeler who wants to build an individual airplane with a documented tactical number.

Application

The set contains classic waterslide decals. First brush or spray the model with a gloss clear coat, otherwise silvering will appear under the decal. Cut the motif out close to the edge, immerse it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and wait until the film releases from the backing. Then slide the decal into place, press the water out with gentle pressure and blot off the excess with absorbent paper. A decal softener will help the decal settle into the engraved panel lines and around the rivets; do not move it while the softener is acting, because the softened film tears easily. Finally seal the model with varnish in the gloss level you want.

Who the set is for

• Modelers building the Bf 109 in 1:48 scale
• Those interested in the less usual operators of a widespread type
• Those who build a specific machine according to its tactical marking
• Collectors assembling the whole series of Croatian schemes

The set contains only decals. The kit, paints, varnish and decal softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
