Turned metal barrels for Browning machine guns of .303 inch caliber and a British-type pitot tube for a model of the Curtiss P-40B or P-40C Tomahawk II in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Curtiss P-40 in the B and C forms was an American single-seat fighter of the beginning of the Second World War. The machines delivered to Britain and to the Commonwealth countries carried the designation Tomahawk II and differed from the American version among other things in their armament: in the wings they had machine guns of the British .303 inch caliber. It was precisely these machines that appeared over North Africa and over Asia, and they are among the popular subjects thanks to their varied color schemes.
The set brings metal barrels for Browning machine guns of .303 inch caliber and, with them, a British-type pitot tube. These are turned metal parts that replace the softer and thicker plastic items from a kit. Metal takes a thin wall and a small diameter that an injection mold could not reach. The number of pieces and the kit the parts are adapted to are given in the manufacturer's data sheet.
Cut off the original plastic parts with a sharp blade and sand the area. Drill the holes for the shanks with a micro drill and always try the fit dry. Bond with super glue in small drops; cement for polystyrene will not join metal. Degrease the parts before painting and go over them with a base color. Fit the projecting parts only at the end of the build, after painting, so that they are not bent while the model is handled.
The set is for builders who want the armament and the external details in scale and tougher than in plastic. The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
