This set is a resin accessory from the Quickboost brand (Aires) in 1:48 scale, not a stand-alone airplane model. It replaces the exhausts of the Dewoitine D.520 plastic kit with faithful resin castings with finely cut outlets on the exhaust stubs. The set is intended for experienced modelers who want to lift the exhaust section above the level of the molding from the box.
The Dewoitine D.520 was a French single-seat fighter of the early Second World War with a liquid-cooled V12 engine. It was among the best French fighters of its day and saw action in the fighting of 1940 and later with other operators. Its longitudinal rows of exhaust stubs were a conspicuous feature of the forward fuselage.
These are resin castings for advanced modelers. First wash the parts free of mold release residue, carefully cut off the casting blocks and clean up the cut surfaces – always with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue; try the fit dry. Drill the exhaust outlets out slightly and paint them in burnt steel shades before fitting.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin set. The aircraft kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package.
