This set contains fine photo-etched parts of thin sheet metal meant to improve a plastic model of the German bomber Do 217E in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an aftermarket accessory that replaces and adds details which injection-molded plastic cannot render faithfully. The set is meant for Do 217E models from the kits commonly available in this scale.
The photo-etched parts generally focus on the cockpit and interior area — instrument faces, side panels, levers, seat belts and other small elements. The result is a markedly more faithful and three-dimensional look where smooth plastic would otherwise remain.
Separate the parts carefully from the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface. Use a photo-etch bending tool or two blades for bending. They are best glued with cyanoacrylate applied in the smallest possible amount; larger areas can also be held with a small amount of epoxy. Degrease before painting.
The accessory comes unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
