A photo-etched set, the Do 217K-1 landing gear, in 1:48 scale from Eduard. A set of thin metal parts that refine the landing gear and its bays in the ICM kit of the Dornier Do 217K-1 — it is not an aircraft model but an accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail photo-etched accessory, not an aircraft model. The set contains thin metal (photo-etched) parts for refining the main landing gear and the wheel bays of the Dornier Do 217K-1. It replaces and supplements the simplified plastic elements in the kit of this German bomber in 1:48 scale from ICM. Photo-etch can capture the mesh, the ribbing and the small locks and linkages of the landing gear in the real thickness of sheet metal, which injection-molded plastic cannot manage. The set is made by the Czech company Eduard, a leading maker of photo-etched parts.
The Do 217K was a German heavy bomber of the Second World War, a development of the Do 217E with a new fully glazed nose. The robust main landing gear carried the high takeoff weight of the machine, so its legs and bays are among the visually prominent details of a model.
For modelers building the ICM Do 217K-1 in 1:48 who want realistic landing gear. Working with fine photo-etch calls for a more experienced hand.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
