Reskit Douglas A-4 Skyhawk - exhaust nozzle 1:48 is a resin replacement for the tail nozzle for models of the late versions of the Skyhawk. It is not a kit of an aircraft but a detail accessory for a model you have already bought.

A resin detail set from the Reskit brand in 1:48 scale. It replaces the simplified plastic exhaust nozzle, which Skyhawk kits usually deal with in only a very few parts, with an accurately cast part with an internal structure. By the manufacturer's designation the set covers the versions A-4E, A-4F, A-4K, A-4L and A-4M. It is not a model of an aircraft - it is an accessory that is inserted into the tail of a plastic kit that is already built or part-built.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is a light carrier attack aircraft whose prototype flew in 1954. The designer Ed Heinemann laid it out deliberately small and light, with a delta wing that did not have to be folded even for operation from aircraft carriers. With the US Navy and Marine Corps it served for decades in the attack, training and aggressor roles, and in export form it flew, among others, with New Zealand (the A-4K) and other foreign users. The rear part of the fuselage with the tubular exhaust nozzle is among the most clearly visible places on the Skyhawk, and that is exactly why detail sets aim at it.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent - remains of the release agent from the mold otherwise keep the paint from adhering. Cut the casting block off with a fine saw or a cutting disc, and never break it off. Do the sanding wet and with protection for your airways, as resin dust must not be breathed in. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and try the part dry beforehand and adjust the seating into the fuselage if need be. Painting: a light base, then metallic shades with the panels told apart, and at the end a dark wash and a light heat discoloration toward the rim of the nozzle.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
