The Eduard 1:48 E-2C surface panels photo-etched set adds fine surface panels and skin details to a model of the E-2C Hawkeye. It is a photo-etched accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard is meant to refine the outer surface of a plastic model of the carrier early warning aircraft E-2C Hawkeye in 1:48 scale. It is not a model and not a kit — these are thin metal parts with which you add surface panels, covers and fine exterior elements that injection-molded plastic cannot capture at the right thickness.
The Grumman E-2C Hawkeye is an American carrier aircraft for airborne early warning and control (AEW). It is marked by the large rotating radar disc above the fuselage and a pair of turboprop engines; it serves as the airborne eyes and brain of carrier strike groups.
The photo-etched surface panels are glued onto a finished skin that has been filled and sanded down, using cyanoacrylate or contact adhesive in a thin layer. Work patiently, align the parts along the engraved lines of the model and remove any excess glue at once. Once they are on, the surface is sprayed with primer and painted as a whole.
The accessory comes as a set of photo-etched parts, unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
