Resin detail cockpit set for the EA-6B Prowler ICAP-2 (1:48): a resin replacement cockpit for the electronic warfare aircraft, early version.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail set intended to refine the cockpit of a model of the American Grumman EA-6B Prowler carrier electronic warfare aircraft in the ICAP-2 version in 1:48 scale. This is the early version of the set. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the simplified cockpit from a plastic kit with a faithfully cast cockpit tub, instrument panels, consoles and seats. Aires cockpit sets usually also include fine photo-etch and an instrument film.
The Grumman EA-6B Prowler was an American carrier electronic warfare aircraft derived from the A-6 Intruder attack machine. Its lengthened fuselage held a crew of four, the pilot and three jamming systems operators. For decades the Prowler jammed enemy radars and communications and escorted strike packages; the ICAP-2 upgrade standard brought improved electronic warfare equipment.
First wash the parts to remove mold release residue and only then glue and paint them. Cut off the casting blocks carefully with a saw and sand the cut surfaces. Bond the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate): ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Before gluing it in, the kit usually needs a little reworking, so the set is rather for the more experienced. Sand wet and protect your airways.
This is a resin accessory, not a model or a stand-alone kit. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
