This resin set from the Quickboost brand of the maker Aires brings a faithfully cast control lever (the engine power lever) for a model of the Brazilian Embraer EMB-314 Super Tucano turboprop attack and training aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model, but a small detail accessory for more experienced modelers that replaces the simplified plastic part with a crisp casting. The side console of the cockpit thus gains a fine, faithful detail.
The Embraer EMB-314 Super Tucano (also known as the A-29) is a Brazilian single-engine turboprop aircraft for light attack, counter-insurgency work and advanced training, derived from the EMB-312 Tucano trainer. It carries armament on several pylons and is used by more than twenty air forces around the world. It is built in single-seat and two-seat versions.
First wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release residue from the mold is removed. Cut the small casting block off carefully and sand the cut surface with respiratory protection. Glue the part with cyanoacrylate glue, not with cement for plastic. Because it is small, pick the part up with tweezers before gluing.
The set is supplied as a resin part, unassembled and unpainted. It is not an airplane model, but an accessory to a plastic kit. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
