1:48 F-100 D Super Sabre - Canopy Mask is a set of stencils for covering the glazing and spraying the canopy frames of the fighter-bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set covers the clear areas of the cockpit on an F-100D model and leaves free only the lines of the frames. The spraying then goes in a single pass and the edge comes out as straight as a hand would never lead it. The form is intended for the outer side of the canopy.
The North American F-100 was the first production American aircraft to exceed the speed of sound in level flight, and so it opened the whole Century series. Its recognition marks are the obliquely cut oval air intake in the nose, a wing swept at 45 degrees and a horizontal tail set low below the axis of the fuselage. The D version was a single-seat fighter-bomber with a larger vertical tail and became the most numerous of all. Over Southeast Asia it flew more combat sorties than any other type of the US Air Force and the pilots nicknamed it the Hun.
The windscreen runs into the canopy in a curve on which a flat piece likes to lift. Press it down from the center toward the edges and let any excess ripple where it will be hidden under the frame anyway. Degrease the surface before spraying; a fingerprint on clear plastic shows through even under paint.
