This set brings a complete resin cockpit for the American McDonnell F-101A/C Voodoo fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory: a cockpit tub, an instrument panel, side consoles, a seat and a range of small parts that will replace the simplified interior from the kit. Many sets of this kind also contain fine elements with preprinted instrument detail.
The F-101 Voodoo was an American supersonic twin-engine machine. The F-101A and F-101C versions served as tactical fighter-bombers of the tactical air arm and carried nuclear weapons as well. They were powered by a pair of J57 family turbojets.
First wash the resin castings in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap to deal with mold release residue. Cut off the casting blocks carefully with a saw or snap them off and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Always dry-fit the cockpit tub before the fuselage is closed and sand the mating surfaces if needed. Shade the interior with a base color, pick out the instruments and the levers and go lightly over the whole with a dry brush so that the detail shows.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
