A Quickboost replacement pitot tube for the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter model in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A replacement part of the Quickboost brand for the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter model in 1:48 scale. It replaces the pitot tube, the slender boom projecting from the tip of the fuselage with which the aircraft senses ram air pressure to measure its speed. On the Starfighter this boom is impossible to miss, it extends the outline of the machine, and the seam of the two-part plastic piece tends to show on it.
The F-104 Starfighter was an American fighter built around performance and speed. It has a long slender fuselage, a very short thin wing with sharp edges and a horizontal tail surface set high on top of the fin. It was this combination that gave the machine its characteristic silhouette, in which the slender boom on the tip of the fuselage reads as a natural continuation of the fuselage.
The part is long and thin, so handle it carefully and fit it as one of the last things, ideally once the model is painted. That saves you snapping it off while sanding and while carrying the model. Try the fit dry first, cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down. The part is not polystyrene, so polystyrene cement has no effect on it; use super glue. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. Hold the finished model by the fuselage, not by the nose.
The delivery is the replacement part itself. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
