A resin detail set in 1:48 scale which shows the open electronic box (the avionics bay) of the F-104 Starfighter fighter in the G and J versions. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for an exposed service panel with the equipment inside. The CMK brand.
The F-104 Starfighter was a supersonic interceptor and multi-role machine characterized by a very thin fuselage and short flying surfaces. Opened service panels with instruments are a rewarding subject for raising the fidelity of a model.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent and cut the casting blocks off. The opening in the fuselage has to be cut out according to the instructions. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and wear respiratory protection while sanding. Paint the inside, bring it out with a wash and add wiring for the greatest effect.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
