A detail set of the wheel (landing gear) bays for the F-105 Thunderchief fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale from Aires. The resin accessory replaces the often simplified bays of a plastic kit with faithfully detailed spaces with a structure of ribs, piping and wiring.
The F-105 Thunderchief was an American supersonic fighter-bomber, one of the largest single-engine combat aircraft of its era. It carried its bomb load in an internal bomb bay as well as on external pylons and was used extensively on strike missions during the war in Vietnam.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond with super glue. The bays come into their own once painted in a base shade, with the edges picked out dry and a gentle wash that underlines the three-dimensional structure of the piping and the wiring.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
