A resin detail set of the cockpit of the F-106A Delta Dart fighter in 1:48 scale from Aires, completed with photo-etched parts. It is not an aircraft model but a complete replacement for the cockpit area that markedly raises the level of detail. The set is intended for Trumpeter kits.
The set replaces the standard plastic cockpit with a faithfully cast tub, instrument panel, side walls and ejection seat; fine features such as belts, levers and placards are added by photo-etched parts. The result is a considerably more realistic view into the cockpit under the canopy glazing.
Wash the resin parts free of the mold release agent and separate them carefully from the casting blocks; glue the photo-etched as well as the resin parts with cyanoacrylate. Protect your airways while sanding. Fitting the replacement cockpit into the plastic fuselage usually calls for adjustment and sanding.
The accessory is not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
