A detailed 3D-printed resin cockpit set for a model of the American General Dynamics F-111D tactical bomber in 1:48 scale from Reskit. The set is intended for the plastic kit from Hobby Boss and it contains 3D decals (instrument panels and details) that give the interior realistic color and depth. It is not a model of the aircraft but a more demanding accessory for experienced modelers.
3D printing makes far finer detail of the cockpit tub, the seats, the side panels and the instruments possible than cast plastic parts can offer. The 3D decals enclosed replace hand painting of the small dials and switches. The result is a realistic cockpit which, especially with an open canopy, raises the impression of the model considerably.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts, carefully separate them from the print supports and clean them up. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The 3D decals are applied to a painted and clear-coated surface in the same way as ordinary decals.
This is an add-on 3D-printed set, not a model of the aircraft. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
