An accessory set of exhaust nozzles for the F-14A Tomcat model in 1:48 scale, rendered in differing positions. The model is not included in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman F-14A Tomcat was a two-seat carrier fighter of the US Navy with a variable-sweep wing. Its tail is one of the most striking parts of the whole aircraft: two widely spaced engine nacelles ending in exhaust nozzles, which on a parked aircraft often sit at different positions. That is the area this set concentrates on.
The box holds replacement exhaust nozzles for a 1:48 F-14A model. According to the name they are rendered in differing positions, which gives the model the relaxed look of an aircraft parked on deck. The manufacturer's instructions state which kit parts the nozzles replace.
The parts are not polystyrene and are bonded with super glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little short of the part and sand off the rest. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, then lay down a primer. The nozzles come alive in metallic shades with a darker tone inside and a hint of heat staining toward the rim.
The set is for modelers who care about the tail of the aircraft and who want to replace the simplified kit parts with a more accurate rendering. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
