Color three-dimensional elements for the electronics bay of an F-15C model in 1:48 scale. They are applied the wet way and are shaped for the kit by Academy.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-15C is an American twin-engine fighter built for air combat, with a high-set cockpit and a pair of vertical tails. The equipment of the aircraft is housed in access bays at the sides and behind the cockpit, covered by hinged panels; during maintenance they stay open and reveal densely packed compartments. It is exactly such a view that makes an impression on a model, because it shows what is otherwise hidden.
The set brings color three-dimensional elements for the electronics bay. They are made by 3D printing, printed on a decal backing paper and finished in color at the factory, so there is no fine brushwork to do. The elements have a real thickness, so once seated they look three-dimensional, and they are shaped for the F-15C kit by Academy in 1:48 scale.
Elements of the QD range are applied the wet way. Cut the part out, leave it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the backing paper into place. They have no adhesive layer of their own and hold reliably on a gloss varnish of the Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22 type, and in the tight corners of a bay a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, because the chemicals attack the printed resin.
The set suits a modeler who is building an aircraft with the service panels open and wants the inside of the bay worked out without laborious painting. The extent of the set and the placement of the individual elements are given in the manufacturer's instructions. The package contains these elements only; the kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
