F-16C/D Block 42/52 - the Pratt and Whitney F100 engine nozzle in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Brengun. A resin replacement nozzle with fine petals for a faithful rear end to an F-16 model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail set from the Czech maker Brengun, intended for a particular Tamiya kit. The casting replaces the original nozzle part of an F-16 model and brings a finely rendered arrangement of petals and the inner structure in one compact piece with no intrusive parting seams.
The F-16C/D fighters of the Block 42 and Block 52 versions are powered by the Pratt and Whitney F100 engine. Its nozzle has a characteristic arrangement of petals, different from the nozzle of the General Electric F110 engine of the Block 40 and 50 versions - on a model this is one of the most conspicuous recognition features of a particular version of the machine.
First wash the casting in warm soapy water so that the paint will hold well. Cut off the casting block with a modeling saw, sand the mark down and use respiratory protection while sanding resin. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Painting can be managed with metallic shades - the outer petals are brought to life by fine heat staining and the inside of the nozzle by a dark wash.
This is a detail accessory, not an airplane model in its own right. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
