A pre-cut masking set for a model of the two-seat F-16D Block 30/40/50 in 1:48 scale. The masks are stuck onto the clear part and the other areas that are to stay free of paint, the finish is sprayed over them and once it is dry they are taken off. With New Ware the ADVANCED level is a statement of scope - it lies between the basic and the highest level of the same range, so when choosing, take care which variant you want.
The glazing of the F-16 is formed by a large one-piece bubble with no transverse frames, which passes into framing only at the front and the rear. It is precisely here that masking by hand most often goes wrong: tape puckers on a doubly curved surface and the edge of the paint is then not straight. A pre-cut kabuki mask is shaped exactly to this area, so it sits without folding and without guessing where the edge should run.
Wash the clear part and let it dry. Peel a mask off with tweezers, lay it down and press it around its whole perimeter with a soft tool. Then comes a thin layer of base color, which seals the edge, and only then the shade itself. Take the masks off once dry with a pull at an angle. On the two-seat version the glazing is longer, so allow yourself calm and good light for sticking them on.
The set is cut for the Kinetic K48105 kit in 1:48 scale - check that you have the matching model. The paints and the model are not included in the package.
