A set of resin ejection seats with cast safety belts for the American two-seat F-4 Phantom II jet aircraft in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost brand. The Phantom crew sits in tandem, so the package provides seats for both cockpits. It is not an aircraft model but an accurate replacement part for experienced modelers that replaces the simplified seats from a kit and raises the fidelity of the interior considerably. The castings capture the fine relief of the straps, the buckles and the shells.
The Phantom II was one of the most successful combat aircraft of the Cold War and served with the air arms and navies of many countries. Its roomy tandem cockpit is clearly visible under the large canopy, so faithful seats with realistic belts are among the most rewarding improvements.
First wash the resin castings in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue. Cut off the casting blocks with a sharp knife or a saw and sand the surfaces; protect your airways when sanding resin. Bond exclusively with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Spray the seats with a base color, set the belts apart with a different shade and pick out the buckles with a dry brush; a light wash will deepen the details.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
