Thin, pointed parts are always a compromise in plastic. A molding has to have a thickness the mold can manage, and it tends to be split, so the seam has to be sanded and the surrounding detail goes with it. A metal part comes in one piece, holds a sharp shape, takes a thinner wall and does not break so easily when the model is handled normally. In the places that project from the outline of the aircraft, that difference shows the most.
Prepare the spot for the part according to the instructions and fit it dry first, only then glue it. Degrease the metal with alcohol before gluing and join it with super glue; modeling cement for polystyrene will not join metal. If you are going to paint the part, lay down a thin coat of primer first, otherwise paint holds badly on smooth metal. It is better to fit it at the end of the build so that it is not damaged during sanding and polishing.
