A set of photo-etched parts for a model of the F-4B Phantom II aircraft in 1:48 scale. It will add details to the model that cannot be made from plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-4B is an early carrier-borne version of the two-seat Phantom II fighter aircraft. It served with the US Navy and the US Marine Corps and it was a large, heavy machine with an unmistakable silhouette: the outer sections of the wing have a marked dihedral while the horizontal tail surfaces on the contrary are angled downward. Models of this type are among the most built in 1:48 scale.
Photo-etching is a thin metal plate with the pattern etched into it. The parts from it are noticeably finer than the same thing in plastic, because metal will take a thickness that an injection mold cannot manage. On a model that shows everywhere the material is thin or pierced in reality. The particular list of parts and their placing are given in the manufacturer's instructions in the package.
The parts are held in the fret by thin tabs. Separate them with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by cutting with scissors, or the edge will bend. Make the bends in a bending tool or over a straight edge, always at once and in one stroke. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, of which really very little is enough: lay it on with a pin onto the part, not onto the model. Degrease the metal before painting and use a primer meant for a metal surface, or the paint will chip off while handling.
The kit of the model, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
