A resin detail set from the manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale, the BRASSIN line. It is not a kit of an airplane but a pair of faithful ejection seats for a model of the Phantom II in the F-4B version, in the late rendering. The castings capture the shape of the shell, the equipment and the handles; colored photo-etched belts and placards fill out the realistic look of the two-seat cockpit.
The F-4 Phantom II had a crew of two sitting in tandem, each member on an ejection seat of his own from Martin-Baker. The early F-4B machines carried the older type of seat, which was later replaced by a newer rendering with an adjusted structure and equipment; it is this late shape that the set captures. An ejection seat allows the aircraft to be left in an emergency across the whole range of speeds, even at ground level.
Wash the parts clean of the mold release agent, separate the casting blocks and clean the surfaces up with protection of the breathing. Glue the resin as well as the colored photo-etch with super glue. The seats are usually sprayed dark gray or black, and the ejection handles are brought out with yellow and black stripes and a gentle wash.
This is an accessory for an interior, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
