A masking set of kabuki paper tape for a model of the carrier-borne F-4B Phantom II in 1:48 scale, in the extended EXPERT configuration.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-4B Phantom II is a two-seat carrier-borne fighter, recognizable by its upturned wingtips and, conversely, by the downward-angled tailplane. The cockpit with two separate canopies and the massive nose make it a model with a large glazed area, where masking by hand takes disproportionately long.
These are pre-cut templates of kabuki paper tape. It conforms well to curves, holds throughout the spraying and as a rule leaves no adhesive residue once removed. The designation EXPERT marks the extended configuration of the line; exactly what the set covers should be checked in the manufacturer's data sheet and instructions.
First clean and degrease the surface. Carry the template over with tweezers, lay it in place and press the edges down with a toothpick or a wooden stick, above all where it runs onto a frame. Mask before spraying. Apply the paint in thin coats, as a heavy coat creates a ridge at the edge of the mask that shows once it is removed. Take the templates off as soon as the paint has set, drawing them at an angle to the surface rather than straight up.
The model of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
