A resin cockpit set from Aires in 1:48 scale, made to raise the detail of the plastic kit of the F-4D Phantom II. These parts match the late form of the cockpit, which differs from the early version in its instrument fit. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory that replaces the plastic cockpit tub with a more accurate casting carrying panels, consoles and seats.
The McDonnell F-4D Phantom II was a two-seat jet multirole aircraft. Over its service life both the front and the rear cockpit went through changes of equipment, so an early and a late form are distinguished. This set targets the late state of the cockpit.
Wash the resin parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. Paint the cockpit with an airbrush and bring the instruments out with a wash and a dry brush. Always test-fit before the fuselage is closed.
This is an accessory for a kit. The aircraft model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
