Eduard 1:48 F-4E tail hook PRINT

This is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory from the manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale. The set replaces the arresting hook (tail hook) in the rear part of a model of the F-4E Phantom II fighter aircraft. The part is produced by direct 3D printing from resin and offers finer detail than the corresponding plastic part.

The real subject

The F-4E Phantom II was an American two-seat supersonic fighter aircraft. The arresting hook served to bring the aircraft to a stop, on the land-based versions above all during an emergency arrested landing on the runway by means of an arresting cable.

Use

• The original plastic hook is replaced with the resin part.
• The part is cut away from the printing supports, cleaned up and glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
• The hook is usually painted in contrast (stripes) according to the chosen subject.
