An add-on set of exhaust nozzles in 1:48 scale for a model of the carrier-borne McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II fighter. It replaces the nozzles from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was a two-seat twin-engine combat aircraft that became one of the most widespread Western types of the second half of the twentieth century. The F-4J form served with the US Navy and the Marine Corps and differed from the older carrier versions in its equipment and in partial modifications to the airframe.
An add-on set of exhaust nozzles for a model of the F-4J in 1:48 scale. It replaces the nozzles from the kit with a shape that has depth and a thin wall; this is exactly where it shows most on a finished model that an injection mold has to make the edge thicker than it is on the real aircraft. The list of parts and the kit the set belongs to are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The nozzles are fitted at the very end of the build, so that they are not damaged while the model is handled. Try them dry: the mating diameter usually has to be tuned by sanding, so that they do not sit crooked on the fuselage. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest down. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Paint the inside of the nozzle before you glue it on, because afterward a brush will no longer reach in. Apply the metallic shades in a thin layer and grade them, so that the depth of the nozzle is not lost in a uniform surface.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
