The set 1:48 F-86A Sabre SPACE from Eduard brings the cockpit of a model of the first production Sabre to life with color three-dimensional elements. You are buying a detail accessory, not a plastic kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The SPACE set is made for detailing the cockpit of a model already under construction. The elements come pre-colored and with three-dimensional relief, so the instrument panel and the side consoles gain a depth that injection-molded plastic cannot offer on its own in this scale.
The F-86A entered service at the turn of the 1940s and 1950s and became the first swept-wing fighter of the US Air Force to see combat. The J47 engine gave it the performance to match its opponents over the North Korean border area, and the six machine guns in the nose remained a hallmark of the whole family. The cockpit of the A differs from the later versions in the layout of the instruments and in the shape of the seat.
Work dry and with a sharp point: the pieces are small and once laid on they are hard to align. Rid the base of dust and irregularities. Once the cockpit is finished, test dry whether the fuselage still beds down, because the new layers take up room a narrow jet cockpit does not have to spare.
After fitting it pays to darken the corners of the tub slightly with a thin wash, so that the elements do not read as stuck onto a smooth surface. Then pick the frame around the instrument panel out gently with a dry brush and the whole thing will tie together visually.
Neither a Sabre kit nor varnish is part of this item.
