Steel pre-printed pilot harness straps for the American version of the Buffalo fighter, scale 1:48. A small set that brings the seat in the cockpit to life.
Responsibility details are not available.
This separate small Eduard set contains the seat belts of the pilot only, but etched from steel and pre-printed in color. Steel differs from ordinary brass etch in its springiness: a strap can be bent into a soft curve, it keeps the shape and does not crack in the bend. It is the simplest way to give the seat in the cockpit some life.
Carrier fighters of the US Navy carried multi-point harnesses that in photographs of the period are almost always draped over the edge of the seat. It is precisely this element that makes a cockpit believable even when the rest of the interior stays as it came from the box. The American version of the Brewster had different fittings from the export machines.
Separate the strap from the fret only just before fitting it. Make the bends over the round tip of tweezers, not over a sharp edge. It is glued with a minute amount of cyanoacrylate, and slower types give time to adjust the position. Wipe excess glue away before it dries, because on printed metal it would leave a dull patch. Work over a surface with a raised edge, so that the small part does not spring away.
The contents are a single small sheet of steel with instructions. The plastic parts are supplied by the kit.
